Shocking Admission
From Professor Hans Von Puppet
Staying abreast of the quickly changing economy is very trying lately. For many people college is no longer an option which begs the question what are the highest paying jobs without a degree? And the truth is that these days a college degree is not going to be a guarantee of a high paying job. Lots of people are graduating from college, deep in debt and having to take low pay jobs that have nothing to do with their degree. You’ve probably met many of them serving you in restaurants or behind the counter at the Kwik Mart.
Unemployment and underemployment means rabid competition over every job. You’ll really have to stand out in that tumult if you want to land even the most menial job.
Trade schools are an alternative but some can be as or even more expensive than college. And competition is high there also, for the students as well as graduates. Industry in your local area usually drives the type of trade schools available. But the recession has hit industry very hard. Also, trade schools take time, just like college. Then you’ll also need on the job experience to get to the salary you need.
There may be some alternative opportunities you haven’t thought of while looking for the highest paying job without a degree. The rough economy plus rapidly expanding technology are providing opportunities that are very lucrative and don’t have a lot of competition. You literally have the opportunity to create a six figure income with a tiny start-up cost and little or no experience. And you can do it all from the comfort of your own home.
Home based businesses are rapidly expanding in the new economy. And that’s just using little more than a computer and cell phone. And every day millions more are scouring the net looking for new and innovative ways to make money from home. Now, if you could put a solution in front of just a small fraction of them do you think you could make a good living? I can hear you saying YES.
There is only one catch. You have to be willing to do what MOST people will never do with this information and that is take ACTION. Most people will stay right where they are because the refuse to act. You have to act if you want a high paying job without a degree.
I know it’s not normal to think of having a six figure income without putting in two, four, or even six and eight years at a university and or graduate school. We all know there are well known exceptions such as plumbing or electrician jobs. But we’re listing some surprising jobs that pay over 100 k per year.
You’ve got to understand that these are not starting positions. It may take years to work yourself up to these high paying positions. But when you think that it might take years of college and then more time on the job these jobs look better and better.
And just like the other jobs these are all pretty consistently high paying. In good or bad economies they are in demand and pay well.
So if college isn’t likely or desirable for you or if it’s not something you can achieve for a long time then you may just want to look into some of these high paying jobs that require no college degree.
1. Elevator Mechanic
Can you believe that the average salary for an elevator mechanic is $109,000? And talk about job security. Can you ever remember being in a building when the elevator was shut down? Not a happy customer, right? And you can be sure your job will never be outsourced. Most elevator repairmen go through a four year union apprenticeship.
2. Court Reporter
A court reporter makes an average of $105,000 per year. Like a lot of these six figure jobs, court reporters have a high level of responsibility. As a court reporter you must be extremely accurate and the legal records of court room conversations must be complete. Demand is expected to remain high. Closed captioning and translation services for hard of hearing and completely deaf people is a growing sector. You will need a lot of training which you can get through the National Court Reporters Association, or a good technical school. Not all states require a license but those who don’t usually require you to be a notary public.
3. Fire Chief
A fire chief can expect to make around $121,000 per year. Of course to become chief you’ll have to put in your time as a firefighter. This can be stressful and even dangerous. You’ll have to maintain very good physical fitness. Be aware that for every fire chief there are many qualified people. You’ll have very stiff competition for the top job. While you can get the job without a college degree, some college education will likely help you compete for the job.

Believe it or not there are some good paying jobs in the restaurant industry. Servers can start with no experience and earn great money. If you’re in a big city like New York or Chicago or you’re in a resort area you can out earn most wage earners and even make more than some people with degrees. And you have some control over what you make because the majority of your money comes from tips. If you’re in a popular place and you draw good tips you can make some great dough. Also, the hours are usually flexible so you can have a good lifestyle along with all that money.
If you’re adventurous working offshore on a ship can be rewarding in more ways than one. The Seafarers International Union provides three months of training to become an able bodied seaman. Contracts can last four to six months. Some are even longer. All your living expenses are paid and you can have a large chunk of money saved at the end of a contract.
One traditional route for one with no experience or education is the military. The pay isn’t all that great but again, all your living expenses are paid. And everyone has the opportunity to pursue higher education either while they’re in the military, or afterward using the GI Bill. And when you’re done with your first enlistment if you decide to get out you will always have the value of that experience. That experience is respected in almost any private industry. You also have the option of continuing your service in the reserves. Then you will still have access to many of the benefits such as retirement pay and access to health care.
If you have that entrepreneurial spark you might like to try to pursue a career in online business. The opportunities to make money online are only limited by your imagination. Affiliate marketing, ecommerce, even creating and selling your own information products are all great opportunities and hundreds of thousands of people are doing just that right now.
Yes, There Are Some High Paying Jobs Without Experience. Opportunity is out there for you. You should not let the down economy get you down.
Actually there are such jobs out there for those with little experience. And many of them don’t require higher education. Many of these jobs require specialized training no matter how much education or experience you have when you enter the job. And once you have this training and experience it goes with you wherever you work later. And you literally have hundreds of career paths to choose from. Lots of trucking companies actually pay students while they’re learning. And truckers can make as much as $60,000 per year after just a few months on the job. There are a variety of truck driving jobs so you can find one that fits your needs.
Rail companies also train for all the varied jobs required by the railroad. Railroad conductors make about 55,000 per year.
You can start out in the building industry, often with a paid apprenticeship. These apprenticeships lead to great jobs with lots of job security. Plumbing and electrical workers can start out around 45,000 per year and on up, not counting overtime. And job advancement is fast.

The welding industry is wide and varied. And you can get on the job training as a welders helper or other entry level job in the industry. As a matter of fact you’ll learn all aspects of metal fabrication and construction. Lots of welders advance to specialized types of welding and machine shop jobs which are very highly paid positions. You can always go to college and earn a degree for even higher pay.
Construction crews always need entry level employees. Again, you can advance fast and be making mid fifties and up to mid seventies per year.
If you’re the entrepreneurial type you can work as a contractor for a cable company. There’s been a big expansion by cable companies recently and you can work for yourself as a contractor. You have flexible hours, and the tax benefits of being self employed are a big plus. You may have to buy some tools to start with although many companies will front you the money and take it out of your compensation.
As you can see there’s plenty of opportunity out there for high paying jobs without experience.
I know it’s not normal to think of having a six figure income without putting in two, four, or even six and eight years at a university and or graduate school. Average salary is $128,000. And no, don’t even think that if Homer Simpson can do it anybody can do it. This is another high skilled specialty job. You won’t start out as a reactor operator. Once you move into a senior operator position you’ll be responsible for equipment that actually affects the operation of the reactor.

As a director you’ll be responsible for training and managing a staff of professionals. There’s lots of competition for these jobs and some can be physically dangerous.
